Faber & Faber + Wonderbly

In a collaboration between traditional publishing titan Faber and award-winning start-up Wonderbly, we created a new brand, identity and e-commerce website for a collection of personalised poetry gift books.
These books are dynamically generated from Faber’s rights-managed poetry database, meaning the book design needed to be responsive to unique user inputs. Working across three teams — and guiding creative directors, producers, editors and web developers — I drove the design and creative for the new brand as well as ten cover-to-cover book designs.
These ten designs needed to represent many different types of customers, gifting occasions and emotional tone from the celebratory to the somber. Each book carries a design theme from the cover’s quarterbind through the front matter of the inside pages and reinforces the customer’s chosen title in the footer of each page.
